Silver Spur Students and Parents

A Message From Silver Spur Students and Parents

Dear Silver Spur Student and Parents,

Thank you so much for helping to Back A Camper from the local neighborhoods of San Pedro, Wilmington, Harbor City and Harbor Gateway! This year, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the LA Harbor is hosting 7 camp sites throughout the LA Harbor Area!

Your donation will help sponsor a L.A. Harbor Youth's Summer Camp fees. Because of you, BGCLAH members will be able to attend field trips, explore college campuses, and have access to comprehensive programming in Arts, Athletics, STEM, Aquatics Robotics, Music & Video Production and so much more! This 9 week program even includes breakfast, lunch and a snack. For every $600 raised, one L.A. Harbor Youth will have the opportunity to attend this 9 week summer camp!

In addition, from May 20-24, Silver Spur kids will be selling Smencils for $2 each at lunch to help contribute to the Back A Camper program!

Thank you, again, for supporting the BGCLAH and for helping to ensure that all youth have the opportunity to have a safe place to go during summer!

About This Campaign

Dear friends,
We all have memories of summer vacation. Riding bikes in our neighborhood, walking with friends to buy ice cream, and enjoying freedom of adventure until the streetlights come on and mom says, “Come home!”. What if your neighborhood was too dangerous to play outside and freedom of adventure was an idea never considered? This summer, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Los Angeles Harbor will provide 7 camp locations in San Pedro, Wilmington, Harbor City, and Harbor Gateway; some of the most challenged neighborhoods in Los Angeles. We will provide a safe place to play, breakfast and lunch, and most importantly, FUN!

Your support of this year’s Back-a-Camper Campaign will go directly to comprehensive programming. At camp youth will enjoy field trips to the Science Center, Aquarium, and Zoo, explore college campuses as far south as San Diego and north to Santa Barbara, participate in aquatic robotics, music and video production, STEM and create Art. Your contribution will give parents of vulnerable youth what we all want; peace of mind knowing their kids are safe, well fed, and enjoying their summer!

Wishing you and your family
A happy and safe summer!
